November 8th

Tomorrow is my last iron iv, then its back to the doctors to find out what other tests they want to run...I did have an endoscopy and colonoscopy. They found a hiatal hernia, which I read can cause iron deficiency anemia. I talked briefly on the phone with one of my doctors and he said he didn't think that was the cause. We'll see when I go to my other two docs. I did get off track with my juicing with vacation, but I'm getting back on track! And I'm walking. I am feeling better, and I can't believe my craving for ice is completely gone!My colon was completely clean, I know that's from the juicing. And when I'm not juicing I do crave it. Excited to see where my blood levels are at and can't wait to know what's wrong!! We r trying to make our kids juice, have at least half a glass a day! Start with that, stubborn children!

September 7th, 2012

K...So today, I had a breakthrough! Been having my beet juice at least once a day, if not twice. Well anyone close to me knows I eat ice 24/7...and I mean 24/7 from the time I get up, to sometimes in the middle of the night (no joke). Which is a sign of anemia, seriously, google it. So, my breakthrough, NO ICE FOR TWO DAYS!! Thats CrAzY!!! Ask, my kids who always get me ice!!! I'm so excited, I even got emotional today. It's like an attic, not wanting their fix, and I mean not WANTING it, not fighting against the want!!!. So I'm  so, so hopeful!!! The beets are doing their job! I go to the hematologist on Wednesday and I hope they still give me an iron infusion, cuz I will take it willingly and get it when I can!! I feel so much better :) So we shall see what my blood results reveal. I just wanna get back to my marathon goals!!

Its been a while!!! September 5, 2012

I had a really busy summer!! I had my nephews here and we did A LOT!! We had a blast showing them Maui. Little did I know that I would once again have a horrible health scare. The last week they were here, Friday August 17th we went to the beach all day with our friends, then we took the kids swimming at the Grand Wailea. That next morning, Saturday, August 18th, I woke up to my heart beating out of control. I thought I was having a panic attack, so I tried breathing and relaxing. Well, it kept thumping hard. So finally, I told Chris and we went to the ER. They got me back and my heart rate was 220, the nurse panicked a bit and hurried and called to the back, "Code red, we have a 36 yr. old female with a heart rate of 220." They rushed me back and got me hooked up to the ECG machine. I had six nurses and the doctor all around me, they put the stickers on me for the shocker thing a ma jigs, shoved on iv in my arm and told me that they were going to give me medicine in my IV that was going to make me feel really funky. So the doc called out to all the nurses, "Are you all ready, they were all hovered around me." And I was thinking, "Wow, this is it, I'm going to die!" They squeezed that medicine through my body and I felt the worst rush ever! They made sure I was still conscious and my heart rate started going down, not as quickly as they wanted. So the doc started talking to me about my anemia and my blood count. My iron was down to less than ten, I couldn't believe it! and my blood level was at a 5 when it should be a fifteen. Once again, I am so low on iron that my body isn't making red blood cells. My heart was working over time to carry oxygen through my body. So of course, the doc wants to give me a blood transfusion, and as he is talking to me about it, my heart rate goes right back up to 220. So they hurry and lay me back down and have to give me that horrible medicine again, which what it does, is stops your heart for one second. So they have the shockers just in case it stops completely. So after that, the doc said "No more talk of blood transfusions for right now." He gave me a shot of a Valium too. So I spent the night in the hospital, they gave me two iron iv's and a shot in my stomach that builds your blood. After I went to my doctor and FINALLY, after asking for two years he referred me to the hematologist  and I am going to be able to get iron infusions. The pills won't stay down. I am already feeling so much better, but now I do have to take beta blockers for my heart. My blood pressure is still perfect 120 over 70. So my heart rate is caused from the anemia. So I have been juicing everyday again faithfully, I have kept off the 30 lbs I lost, so that's good news. Every morning I have a beet juice with strawberries and kale. Beets are one of the best things for me. They build and purify your blood, high in iron. One article said they cure anemia, thats what I am hoping for. Helps with stress, heart related diseases, helps your acne and dry skin, gives your skin a glow. Helps prevent cancer, birth defects, digestive problems..the list goes on and on. I just want to feel good, to be able to exercise and not feel like passing out! I had to put my marathon goals on hold, but I will get there again. Chris and I have been doing uphill walking in the mornings, I'll have to work up to running again. But at least I can start my treatments now. I'll keep you posted ;)

April 26th 2012

I have been reading up a lot on training for a marathon. Its a good thing we have til September before the first half marathon. So right now we are focusing on being able to run for 30 minutes without stopping, that's the first step. Our actual training will start July 1st. We are still juicing 3 to 4 times a week, it just makes us feel better. Every morning we have our Green Smoothie for breakfast (Spinach, mango, banana, flax seed and fresh green apple juice, or pineapple juice) I take the spiralina tablets, or the powder in my smoothie. And we eat super healthy, all organic and veggies. I can't believe how much I am enjoying running, how much better I feel. I am getting addicted. We are trying to lose 5 lbs a week, but that doesn't always happen. We still lose every week! I think setting goals helps so much and I think the marathon's will keep us focused. I'll have to post some more recipes I have found :)

April 21st

We did make it through our sixty days, Yay! Now we are focusing on sticking to 1200 to 1700 calories a day. And staying away from empty calories. I still juice at least once a day, because it makes me feel so much better. We have been walking/ jogging every night. I can't jog the whole time yet, but I'm getting closer to my final goal of being a runner on the beach :) We are going to do some 1/2 marathons, leading up to the marathon in January. 26.2 miles from Wailea to Lahaina town, WOW! but what a gorgeous run right on the coast. The first 1/2 marathon is September 15th. so we have a while to train. Im excited. Well we will keep you posted!

Day Forty Five

We are still mostly juicing, but we have slowly started to add other things back to our diet, like, beans, brown rice, granola. I've been doing green smoothies with spirilina and flaxseed. We are sticking to 1200 to 1700 calories a day.
Chris tried the cleanse doing one quart of warm water with 2 tbsp. of sea salt. It worked fine for him.. I tried it and violently threw up. Ugghh, it was awful!!
We are writing everything we eat down and exercising. Starting phase 2 a little early, we need more food with the exercising we have been doing.

Day Thirty Eight

Worked out my arms today kayaking and at sunset we worked out our legs on a 5 mile bike ride! I am sore! We went on a new bike trail, loved it. This is such an amazing place to live, not only beautiful, but the smells coming from the neighborhoods of Hawaiian BBQ, AMAZING!! I don't have to eat meat, but I can enjoy the smell :) We came home and bbq some zucchini, peppers and onions. Still yum. Even though we are 22 days away from completing 60, we are still going to keep juicing for our breakfast. Our workouts are already getting more and more intense, from here on out we are going to add more every week. Down 5 more lbs this week! YAY!

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

Day Thirty Six

Still going strong. Feeling more and more amazing everyday. Hoping I reach my goal of losing 60 lbs. We are exercising more and more. I did pick up a few more recipes I need to post :) This week I am going to make Dr. Oz veggie soup. I'll post more later!

Day Thirty Two

Finally, I am feeling better from camping! Guess my body hates sausage..Today on the Facebook page of Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, there was an article on how amazing juicing is for your skin, how it puts the red, yellow pigment back and thats why we get a glow. Loved it! Especially juicing, beets, carrots, tomatoes and spinach. So this morning Chris juiced me 1 beet, 2 carrots, a cup of strawberries and kale. It was so good!! I made some tofu lettuce wraps tonight, they turned out! I just can't only do the juicing, I am mainly juicing with a small snack at lunch and small dinner. We have cut out so much!! Coffee, alcohol, meat, dairy, sugar...I think we are doing fine. We did add one more rule, no more eating or drinking juice after 7pm. Went on our walk tonight, we are both feeling great! ;)

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

Day Thirty!

Wow! Half way there and our camping trip, did mess us up!! I am still sick and I only sampled a couple pieces of sausage and a few crackers with artichoke dip. The last day we went on a hike and I didn't eat anything, that was a huge mistake! So not enough eating the good stuff and sampling a few bad things, I am paying for it! Oh well, moving on...Yesterday, we were back on juice and had veggie soup for dinner. I'm having some beet juice today, hopefully it will finish cleaning me out. Back on the scale on Friday! We did have a blast on our camping trip, but next time we 'll have to plan it a little better ;)

Day Twenty Four

We are getting ready to go camping for 4 days. Got all my veggies cut up. Going to make a big thing of salsa, and red peppers will be our chips. Im making lettuce wraps, with only veggies inside. We are going to do tinfoil veggies and potatoes. We will be doing lots of hiking, can't have as much juice as I would like :( When we get back we are going to do only juice again for a few days
. Tonight I had five chips with organic chilli and cheese that we made for the kids and I feel like I ate a whole buffet..yuk! Don't like this feeling..Excited for our little staycation, we have a lot of our friends coming up. I am DETERMINED to eat right the whole time. Guess my next post will be on day 28! Aloha :)

Day Twenty Two and Twenty Three

Still going...I'm a very mathamatical person, so the scale is driving me CRAZY!! Hate that thing..haha! I'm going to forget about it until Thursday. My clothes feel great and I am sticking to my juice. Last night, we made the kids spaghetti with gluten free noodles and local, organic meat and sauce. I did have a little sauce on my aspargus and a half of sweet potatoe. Love my bedtime tea at night, not quite like a glass of wine, but I don't need the wine! My tea is good enough, so I am going to stick to having tea at night and I will have wine occasionally :) Never knew how much alcohol sabatoges your diet!! This weekend we are going camping, so we have to do some major planning for our food and we are going to bring juice, not as fresh as I would want it, but better than no juice.

Day Twenty One

The scale this week is so frustrating!!! Down only 2 lbs this week? Arghhh!!! Its gotta be my monthly, but Im just going to focus on the fact that I am down a size, (Thank you cousin for pointing that out). Still feel great! And hopefully next week I will see more results on the scale. Still staying focused, almost half way to completing  phase one..YAY!!

Friday, March 9, 2012

Day Twenty!!!

Yay! Felt great today, did nothing but juice!! I am a little hungry, but I have absolutely no cravings. Went on our walk and I am already so much stronger!! Made it up a huge hill without having to stop, it felt great. I might hold off on my weigh in until Saturday. Sooo happy I did this and we are both staying focused. Making slow changes with the kids. I changed their bread this week to all organic. Got them gluten free waffles and whole grain crackers. Yesterday, they drank a full cup of juice. I had to go and buy some clothes today, my clothes are falling off! Loved that!!! Day 20..Woohoo only ten more days until 30!

Day Nineteen

Not the best day, ugghhh..cramps and blah..We did go to a raw bar here, and it was so good. I got the local kombacha made here! Loved it. We went to Chris' workmates house for a dinner that we kept putting off. I had a small taco and a plate full of salad. Didn't go on my walk, in too much pain!!!

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

Day Eighteen

Two more days, to be at Day 20? Thats crazy!!! So this week I have been a little moody, as you can tell from my last post. Then this morning, I jumped on the scale, (I know I couldn't hold out) and I was UP three pounds! WHAT??! So today I was so annoyed at work, wondering what was going on...well tonight I got my answer, you know ladies, moody, emotional, bloated! So now Im so happy to know that its just my time of the month. I usually gain about 7 lbs from retaining water. So tonight I am having lots of lemon in my tea, to get rid of the retention and tomorrow lots of lemon, cucumber water :) Chris is doing awesome! He had a couple days off work, so he took our boy hiking and cliff diving today. We are getting up early to do our walking on the beach..Hopefully by Friday I can weigh in without the water weight. Excited for this week, can't wait to reach the half way of 30 days!! ;)

Day Sixteen and Seventeen

Had a great day at work yesterday, everyone could tell I had lost, so that is always good to hear. Chris and I both are ready to bump up our work outs, so we are going to start figuring out our plan. We have some friends of ours juicing too, so that is fun to talk to them and get ideas from each other. I can see the difference in their skin too. Well off to work!

Saturday, March 3, 2012

Day Fifteen

This morning we were out the door by 7:15am, had to get to the farmers market before everything good was gone. Then we went on our walk, gorgeous morning! I refrained from the scale this morning, it was SOOO hard! I need to just weigh myself once a week. I seem to stick to my plan more when I only weigh in at the end of the week. Because sometimes  I reason that I lost weight even though I cheated and before you know it I am cheating everyday.
This week on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, we are going to try just juicing, no food at all. That thought is hard right now because I am starving after our walk. Forty five more days to go for our first goal, Then it's "Phase Two" which will be eating a plant based diet and lots of weight training and major cardio!

Friday, March 2, 2012

Day Fourteen

I can't BELIEVE it is DAY 14!!! So official weigh in for the second week, I am down 10.3 lbs! In just one week, wish I knew what the first week was, but oh well moving on..Chris is down 11lbs, it would take a miracle to lose more than him :) I'm excited to really start seeing results.
I guess all the nutrients is suppose to smooth out cellulite, we will see. My sis has been doing green smoothies for breakfast (Kale, spinach, juice and a banana) and she look so FAB, she kinda already did, but her body is practically perfect now with no cellulite and her daughter is not even two yet. Last night I did some major stretching, it makes me feel so much better and I sleep better.
So, continuing on to Week 3, YAY!

Thursday, March 1, 2012

Day Thirteen

Wow! almost to two weeks and down almost a pound this morning. For dinner tonight, we had the Sweet Potato Sliders, they were delicious! You have to try them. Day Twelve

Today, I stayed off the scale, because of my mojoto ;) I have to push myself extra hard tonight on my uphill walk, then I'll weigh in the morning..Started my morning with one of the Kombucha drinks, I guess they work the best if you drink them first thing. And they really do give you a boost of energy! I'll drink them every once in a while, but my juice truly makes me feel the best. I noticed today, that my pores are getting smaller and smaller! And my skin has more and more of a glow every single day. I had my two juices so far and for lunch I had some saute'd zucchini and fresh tomatoes. I just feel great, my knees feel better, my endurance has improved, it is AMAZING!! Everyone has got to try this once, I'm sure all of us need more vitamins from fruits and veggies. My ultimate goal is to be running on the beach every morning. And to eat to live, not live to eat....... I can't believe I had the strength to cut all those things out of my diet, and after the 60 days I will have what I want for two meals a week and eat a plant based diet for most of the week........ I do want to coffee again after the 60 days, we will see, but I don't miss it as much as I thought I would! I feel like I'm over the hump and hopefully for the most part it can be smooth sailing to 60 days!! My mind and emotions are much clearer too..LOVING IT!!

Day Eleven

Yesterday was busy, I didn't get a chance to post..So Day 11, down 1.2 lbs! I went out with the girls after work to Ruby Tuesday's and I looked the menu up online before we went to map out my game plan. I decided to get the lettuce wraps without the chicken and a pomegranate mojoto (made with the POM juice), so we get there and here (IN Maui),  they don't have the wraps, (PANIC)! I scanned through the menu and in their sides they have roasted butternut squash, so thats what I ordered. The mojoto was SOOO GOOD. Hey I can't stick perfectly to it everyday, cause its just ri- dinky- link!!! and a little something isn't going to break the scale........

Usually after 3 days of sitting at the computer at work, my ankles and feet are so swollen, well not this week! I even walked out of work with my heels on ( which I always put flip flops on before walking to the car, its kind of a far walk) I can't wait to work out tonight, since we missed last night. My energy still amazes me. Which speaking of energy, Chris is a SUPER FREAK, the guy exhausts me with what he can do, he is constantly doing something. He has always been so great with helping around the house. Well yesterday the juicing energy hit the already crazed energy man. He worked graveyard yesterday, he came home juiced for me for work, and started cleaning the house (DEEP CLEANING) I came home last night and every room was perfectly cleaned. He scrubbed the stains in the carpet, the walls, moved furniture and cleaned every corner of our wood floors! Then he got up and went to work again at 3:30am! The man is half crypto or something! But its so nice that now I just have to maintain it today ;)

Day Ten

I'm having a 'love" relationship with scale..down 2 more lbs. this morning! Still feeling amazing, more and more every day. I just can't believe how many benefits in 10 days. Tonight I tried a cleansing drink called Kombucha. its made from a mushroom and is super, super good for you, google it . I'm doing fine without coffee, and don't crave it like I thought I would. Though, I do have to say, I will be getting a coffee once a week or every other week after the 60 days. I won't be drinking it every morning though. After you get going on the juicing you can really decide what you want back in your diet and the empty calories that were never worth it. Tonight we had grilled yellow zucchini and mashed cauliflower. They tasted just as good as mashed potatoes to me. We put garlic, sea salt and pepper on them, Yum. One thing that keeps me motivated as well, is reading on what all the different veggies and fruit do for your body. Especially the "super foods" ...the power of food..it's crazy!

Sunday, February 26, 2012

Day Nine

Down 2 lbs!! I love that! My work week starts today. I have more self control at work, I'm distracted. This week, I really wanna push myself a little more with exercise. I'm sleeping much better too! Last night, I slept like a log. Last time I slept that good was probably when I was pregnant, twelve years ago. And again, my cravings are going away! Chris is still struggling with his cravings. We talked last night about emotional attachment to food, and he is surprised at how much he relies on food. This cleanse really helps you examine your habits and why you have them. Well I am off to work..I'll post more tonight ;)...Had a great day at work, the girls said my hair looks super shiny. My hair feels so healthy and manageable, first time its felt like that in Maui. Went on a uphill walk with Chris, love getting my heart rate up. Now I have to wind down this energy so I can sleep! But my bedtime tea and melatonin seem to knock me out. Tomorrow is day 10, wow! Its went by so fast!

MY OBSESSION WITH THE SCALE

I bought that new scale Thursday night, and of course all day yesterday I couldn't stay off the thing. Every time I used the bathroom I had to weigh myself. I only got on it once today, first thing this morning and I was down a pound and a half! Yay! That's my goal a pound a day. Of course, Chris was down 4 pounds. (Men) Its not fair, can't something be in our favor!! I am fighting the urge to get on it again today. I'm letting myself get on it every day this week, but come next week, it has to be once a week.

Day Eight

I am feeling pretty tired today, I woke up this morning early, was out the door by 8:30am to the Swap Meet. Found some CHEAP amazing deals on all my produce, then we went to the farmers market for some things I couldn't find at the Swap Meet. And went to whole foods. Came home, made the kids lunch. And now I am super tired. But my cravings are less and less.I am actually craving veggies and fruit. We made the acorn squash for dinner last night, and it was so good. I bought a few different squashes today to try for dinner. My skin is still transforming everyday. So heading for week two ;) My absolute favorite juice is the Green Goddess! I love it, if you are juicing, you have to try it!

Day Seven

Well last night turned out to be kind of a bummer. Come to find out, our WII which I was weighing on, was not working at all. So, we bought a new scale last night and it is way off from what the WII was saying, so now I have to wait another week to really weigh myself. UGGHHH! Oh well, another week will go by fast. We went for a walk on the beach last night and I can't believe how much more endurance I have. The juicing helps with so many things. We are going to go on a walk every night and up our exercise from there. I am still eating some veggies and fruit, but after this week I am going to try and do just juicing for 5 days. Chris was annoyed with not weighing in too. His headaches are gone, but his legs have been hurting him at night, which is another symptom of detox. Your legs carry a lot of toxins. I'm determined to keep this going, and refine it every week. Although I haven't seen the weight results, the other results I have seen has made it well worth it!

Thursday, February 23, 2012

Day Six

One more day before I get on the scale!!! ;) That alone is motivation to get through today. I did have a little setback today, my son begged me for breakfast at McDonald's, so I caved and I had a bite of his sausage mc muffin :( Oh well, just a bite. At least I didn't get myself one! Went home and had my "Morning Tonic" so I'm back on track. I haven't followed it perfectly, and I'm still feeling all the benefits. Today is my first day not having any coffee, I did have a 1/2 cup the first 5 days. But today I didn't want it, I haven't craved a glass of wine either, because at night I feel relaxed and energized. This is just so much easier than I thought it would be! There are still hard moments through the day, but they are getting less ;) Seeing all the results and everyone's comments on the FB page of Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead is so inspiring and of course, feeling AMAZING myself! We are going a longer walk tonight and I have been stretching every night. LOVING THIS!!

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Day Five

WOW! I am feeling so GOOD! It's amazing. Usually my Wednesday is my "drained" day. I'm drained from the weekend and from work. I end up taking a nap after I get the kids to school. Well not today! I got the kids off to school, went to the bank, paid our electric and went to the farmers market. Then I came home put away all the groceries. Juiced ;) and now sat down to enjoy my juice. I can't remember the last time I had this much energy. And ya all are gonna get tired of hearing this, but I have to say it... MY SKIN!! I have paid out so much money to get my skin to look like this, facials, products, products and more products! When in reality, could have been free, by changing the way I ate, because I always have to spend money on food. I have tried so many weight loss programs too. Weight Watchers, Nutri- System, HCG shots, MD Diet Clinic...and yes Weight Watchers definitely works the best, but I didn't feel this good. I was always a little hungry and it was easy to mess up. This juicing is easy to stick to because the results are immediate. Best medicine eva! I love it. Two more days, and I'm getting on the scale ;)...Made some veggie soup tonight for dinner and made the kids eat it too (With their pasta). We went on a walk and took the kids to the park. Made it through day 5 even with Chris going on with his fantasies of pizza..on to day 6!

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

Day Four

Its still early on Day 4, but I had to post a little before work. I woke up and my rash is gone. My face is still a little red and my arms are itchy, but let me tell you, my skin looks fab!! I am amazed! No facial in the world could give me these results and I'm happy to see improvement already. Especially because I am dying to get on the scale, but I want to wait seven days before doing that. Your weight fluctuates too much, so an accurate weight is once a week. And I have to be balanced with this because I become OBSESSED with the scale. I have had a love, mostly hate relationship with that little piece of equipment. It has the power to completely destroy my day. So once a week I will weigh myself, only three days left ;) I am off to the salon (work) and I'll add more to this post tonight. Felt great at work today, I did get super hungry around 2pm, so I ate my green bell pepper. I had super green juice for dinner, spinach, celery, green apple and cilantro. Had a little snack of three red leaf lettuce pieces, some of my homemade hummus and hot sauce. I had to watch Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead again...so inspiring. Now I am ready for bed at 10 pm, still feeling energetic, so I am having some bedtime tea. I have felt so fatigued for at least 4 years now, that this energy is amazing..I am so shocked! I heard day 6 is the best..woohoo, excited to get there. Chris is feeling better tonight, is headache is easing up, but his legs are a bit achy...he will get there ;)

Beware of the Beet

So I learned this the hard way a few months back, This is when I was juicing, but still eating my regular diet. Beets are the highest in iron, and I am extremely anemic, so I thought I'd drink a lot of beet juice. I had about two 20 oz glasses of beet juice the first day, and felt ok. (Not pleasant bathroom breaks) Day two I had another 20 oz glass in the morning and in the afternoon I started feeling very foggy and weak. Two hours later, I started feeling ok, but then with lunch I had another beet juice and almost right away I started feeling weak and foggy. So I thought, I'll google it, just to see if it could possibly be the beet juice and sure enough it was!! So long story short: Beets are extremely cleansing so we have to work up to having more beets in our juice. So start out with just one beet juice, mixed with greens and carrots the first week and slowly add as the weeks go on.

Day Three

I woke up today, with a splotchy rash on my face and my right arm. I kinda panicked at first, because, hey I had to go to work, and I work in the beauty industry. I looked it up online, and sure enough, one of the first symptoms of detox is skin rash. Ok, so I asked on Facebook, and others juicing assured me it was normal and should go away in a few days. I didn't put much foundation on, my skin was sensitive and hot to the touch. I showed the girls at work, and they said it wasn't very noticeable and they were all in shock about how much my pores have shrunk and my skin was glowing.  I noticed this too. Which I had just read about new celeb diets and one is about balancing your ph with lots of veggies and fruits. People with high acid have large pores and dry hair. HUGE difference in my hair and skin and I'm only one day three! This encouraged me to get through today. I did come home to a crabby hubby with a raging headache, who spent the day on the beach, he only had two glasses of juice and not enough water. I made him sliced bell peppers with a little bit of hummus and made him eat a little.

Day Two

I had to work, so I had my morning juice and took my lunch juice. I did decide to bring a sliced bell pepper and about 1/4 a cup of avocado. I didn't want to faint at work. I got through the day, and I did have a few bites of bell pepper and avocado. When I got home I was starving and I came home to a very crabby hubby with a headache. So I decided to make some cabbage soup, and that helped us through. Before bed we both had some bedtime tea.

Day One

Day one was hard for me, but not horrible. We took the kids to a local parade and a little carnival (Whale Day) After about three hours, I couldn't get out of there fast enough. It was hot, crowded and I had a raging headache. After that, which I felt like I had heat stroke, I caved and had a small piece of grilled chicken. My headache went away and I made it through the rest of the day. My husband, who is my juicing partner, did great the first day.

The start of my journey

I was inspired by the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, as thousands of people are. I watched it for the first time about 5 months ago. I ran out and bought a juicer and tried a lot of different juices, but I wasn't quite ready to actually do a juice cleanse. So here I am, still struggling to get my weight off. I need to lose 60 pounds. And one day on the beach, feeling gross, surrounded by beautiful bodies here in Maui, I finally said "I'm done!" I'm done living as a prisoner in my own skin. So I told my husband (who feels the way I do) Lets start our juice cleanse TONIGHT!. We went to the farmers market and bought all our veggies and fruits, and for dinner that night we had our juice and went on a walk. So this is my journey through this juice cleanse. I am shooting for 60 days!
